GST collection rises 11% to Rs. 1.65 lakh crore
Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections grew 10.8 per cent to Rs 1.65 lakh crore in July, marking the third highest level since the rollout of the indirect tax regime in July 2017 and crossing the Rs 1.6 lakh crore mark for the fifth time since the rollout.
GST revenue collected last month was Rs 1,65,105 crore of which Central GST — the tax levied on intra-state supplies of goods and services by the Centre — was Rs 29,773 crore, State GST — the tax levied on intra-state supplies of goods and services by the states — was Rs 37,623 crore, Integrated GST — the tax levied on all inter-state supplies of goods and services — was Rs 85,930 crore (including Rs 41,239 crore collected on import of goods) and cess was Rs 11,779 crore (including Rs 840 crore collected on import of goods).
