PD Singh Appointed as India CEO of Standard Chartered Bank

Standard Chartered has named PD Singh as its new Chief Executive Officer for India, effective April 1, 2025. He succeeds Zarin Daruwala, who is set to retire on March 31 after a distinguished tenure. Singh brings nearly 30 years of experience in banking and financial services. He previously served as CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank in India, where he was instrumental in expanding the corporate banking business. Before that, Singh held various senior leadership roles at HSBC across its corporate and commercial banking segments. With over 165 years of continuous presence in India, Standard Chartered operates 100 branches across the country, and Singh’s appointment is expected to further bolster the bank’s strategic growth in the region.
