PM nods for reconstitution of Niti Aayog

The reconstitution of government think tank NITI Aayog has received approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar continues in his post along with members VK Saraswat, Ramesh Chand and VK Paul, the ex-officio members now include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

However, the list does not include the name of Bibek Debroy, a former permanent member.

Meanwhile special invitees to NITI Aayog include Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari; Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot; Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal; and Minister of Statistics (Independent) Rao Inderjit Singh.
