RBI to accept Rs. 2,000 notes by post.
The RBI has requested that anyone who is still in possession of Rs 2,000 in banknotes send them to its office via India Post. Although there are only Rs 10,000 crore worth of these notes in circulation, the central bank has stated that they are still legal tender. If notes and coins are sent for specified reasons and follow RBI regulations, the director general of postal services may permit their transmission.
