Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank donates Rs. 1 crore to Kerala
TMB has donated Rs 1 crore to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the state recover from the disaster left behind by nature’s fury in the form of severe flooding and landslides.
Officials said the donation included contribution from the 87-year-old bank and a day’s salary of all the employees working in the 509 branches across the country.
The bank having its presence in the Kerala from 1977 has 21 branches said they are committed to play a small role in helping the disaster hit State to limp back to normalcy.
Managing director and CEO of the bank KV Rama Moorthy and the bank’s regional manager of Thiruvananthapuram region handed over the draft for the said amount to the minister of industries, sports and youth affairs, of Kerala, EP Jayarajan said.
