United Bank of India, 1st Kolkata Based Bank to launch Credit Card
United Bank of India, a leading Public Sector Bank in India having its headquarter at Kolkata, has launched “United Credit Card” on RuPay platform with an objective to include a popular digital product in its basket of technology services.
The product was launched by Sri. Pawan Bajaj, Managing Director & CEO in presence of Sri. Ashok Kumar Pradhan, Executive Director, other Senior Executives of the Bank, National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) and the technology service partner M/s Intellect Design Arena Ltd.
It was the passionate desire of the Bank towards technological excellence that has driven the launch of the product to serve its existing as well as potential customers. This vision shall go a long way in fulfilling the desire of the long standing loyal customers of the Bank to possess a Credit Card of their “OWN BANK”.
Customer Service and Bonding with the customers will increase with this initiative to create Customer Delight which is much sought in all circumstances with special thrust on present Digitization drive by the Government.
Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director & CEO, Sri Bajaj, emphasized the need to have all available Digital Channel products in the Bank to meet the demands of the customers. He assured that meeting the expectation of the customers is the prime objective of the Bank and the customers of the Bank will be served with the latest products so that they do not have to look beyond United Bank of India for their Banking requirements. Sri Bajaj proudly announced that United Bank is the 1st Bank having head quarter in Kolkata to venture into credit card business.
The Executive Director, Sri Pradhan, in his address, reminded that the young and new generation customers whose inclination is towards ease of operations are always on the lookout for new initiatives. Technology driven products serve as the prime attraction for retention and addition of such young people in the Bank’s clientele. Emphasizing the strong connect of the elderly and aware customers, he said that technology driven products would give them an ease of operation from their convenient and comfortable location.
Executives from NPCI and the Technology service partner, while applauding the launch, mentioned that Credit Card business has huge potential in the wake of the Government’s vision of a digital economy and the launch of the product has come at the right time to tap the available market.
